Our Services

At Wright Notary Services, Our Signing Agents always provide professional services that accommodate your scheduling needs. We offer mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday appointment times.

  • Our Mobile Notary services are available to clients in North Chesterfield and nearby areas up to a 100 miles radius (additional charges will occur for distances over 60 miles round trip). 
  • Our Remote Online Notarization services are available to anyone who have two unexpired government-issued photo IDs. (see list below).
**Please note, we also offer KBA(Knowledge Base Authentication) questions and biometric screening software to serve as a second form of identification.



Requirements

Virginia Notary Handbook Version revised April 6, 2021, states that signers be identified either by personal knowledge or by one or more of the following nine (unexpired) government-issued photo ID's:

  • United States Passport
  • U.S. Passport Card
  • Certificate of United States Citizenship
  • Certificate of Naturalization
  • Foreign Passport

  • Alien Registration Card with Photograph
  • State-issued Driver’s License
  • State-issued Identification Card
  • United States Military Identification Card

Personally known, which means the Notary Public has an established relationship with the individual (regular interaction over a period of time giving the notary a deep-seated belief that the person is who they say they are). A Virginia notary may (refuse) to notarize a document for any reason.

To Ensure A Smooth Appointment Please Note: The Notary Public laws require notaries to take special precautions before notarizing documents:

• The document or form requiring notarization must be completely filled out.

• All signer(s) must be present at the time of the appointment.

• The signer(s) must be of sound mind, alert, and mentally competent.

• The signer(s) must be signing the documents of their own free will.

• The signer(s) must understand the contents of the documents they are signing and need notarized.

• The signer(s) must understand and agree that by signing the documents they are legally binding themselves to the terms of said document(s). 

Your Document Cannot Be Notarized If:

  • The signer is not physically present at the time of the appointment.
  • The document is incomplete or blank.
  • The signer has been adjudicated mentally incapacitated and has not been restored to capacity as a matter of record.
  • The signer cannot produce acceptable identification.
  • The signer appears to be drunk, sedated, or disoriented.
  • The notary knows or suspects that the transaction is illegal, false or deceptive.
  • The signer does not speak English and there is no one available to translate the document into a language the signer understands.
  • The notary believes that the signer is being coerced or does not understand the consequences of signing the document.
  • The signer or witnesses do not agree to sign the document.
